Acai Juice Health Benefits

The Acai fruit is very fragile. Because of this, it must be consumed, frozen, or processed within 24 hours of being picked.

Acai fruit is native to the rain forests of Central and South America. Therefore, you will only find it in frozen-pulp, smoothie, and juice form here in the United States. That makes it better for us in America because it can be made available frozen or as a juice on request. Acai Juice to your health!

Acai berry is also known as the "Superberry." The Acai berry is said to be a cross between a blueberry and a grape, but has twice as many cancer fighting antioxidants. Acai Juice contains many vitamins as well as good fatty acids such as Omega 6 and Omega 9 which help lower LDL (the bad) cholesterol. The Acai pulp is rich in B vitamins, minerals (particularly iron), fiber, Omega-3 fatty acids and protein.

Acai juice has a dense source of particular flavanoids called anthocyanins (red-blue phenols with potent antioxidant properties.) Also, the fatty acid ratio of Acai resembles that of olive oil, which is thought to be a contributing factor to the low incidence of heart disease.

Acai Juice also contains valuable phytosterols which are components of plant cell membranes. They provide numerous benefits to the human body, one being the reduction of blood plasma cholesterol. Sterols are also useful in maintaining a healthy prostate and in aiding the immune system. Acai comes in three different forms, fruit, juice, and pill. So pick the one you prefer and make sure to take advantage of this powerful fruit.
